Databricks Cloud Account Setup

Satori’s Data Discovery capability enables you to automatically scan your Databricks account to discover Databricks workspaces. Perform the following steps to connect Satori to your Databricks account.

Prerequisites

Before you start, ensure that you have the following:

  • You have access to your Databricks account and admin privileges to configure service principals and tokens.

You will need the following:

  • The Account ID
  • A Personal Access Token or Service Principal credentials with metadata read permissions.

Perform the following steps to set up and connect Satori to your Snowflake organization.

  1. Go to the Settings / Cloud Accounts view and click the plus button to add a cloud account.
  2. Select the Databricks option.
  3. Enter a descriptive name for this integration in the Name input field.

Perform the Databricks-specific inline instructions as they appear in the Add new cloud Account view:

Step 1: Select Data Access Controller - Choose the cloud provider and region of the DAC for the discovery process

Step 2: Insert your Databricks Credentials

a. Account ID: Add your cloud account ID

b. Authentication Type: Select the Authentication Type from the drop menu.

c. Go to your databricks account and create a service principal and assign it the Account admin role in Databricks.

d. Click the Generate secret button and copy the client ID and Secret to the Application (client) ID input field of your Satori account.

e. Application (client) ID: Paste the application client ID from Databircks into the input field.

f. Directory (tenant) ID: Provide the tenant ID (Azure Only)

g. Client secret’s Value: Provide the client secret value

Step 3: Select Environment - Set the default environment for discovered data stores of this cloud account. The environment type impacts the risk score calculated for data stores.

Add New Cloud Account - Click Add New Cloud Account to finalize the configuration and start Data Discovery.

Next Steps

Once the Databricks workspace is enabled, Satori begins scanning the data store and populating the Data Inventory with discovered data categories and audits.
