MongoDB Cloud Account Setup
Satori’s Data Discovery capability enables you to scan your MongoDB Atlas account and automatically discover MongoDB clusters. Perform the following steps to connect Satori to your MongoDB Atlas account.
Prerequisites
Before you start, ensure that you have the following:
- You must have access to your MongoDB Atlas account with permissions to manage access.
You will need the following:
- The MongoDB Project ID
- An API Key (Public Key and Private Key) with access to the desired cluster(s)
- The Username for the MongoDB user account that will be used for discovery

Configuring a MongoDB Atlas Cluster

Perform the following steps to set up and connect Satori to your MongoDB Atlas account.
- Go to the Settings / Cloud Accounts view and click the plus button to add a cloud account.
- Select the MongoDB option.
- Enter a descriptive name for this integration in the Name input field.
Perform the MongoDB-specific inline instructions as they appear in the Add new cloud Account view:
Step 1: Select Data Access Controller - Choose the cloud provider and region of the DAC for the discovery process
Step 2: Insert your Atlas Credentials - Enter the API public key for accessing the MongoDB Atlas Admin API and then enter the corresponding private key
Step 3: Select Environment - Set the default environment for discovered data stores of this cloud account. The environment type impacts the risk score calculated for data stores.
Add New Cloud Account - Click Add New Cloud Account to finalize the configuration and start Data Discovery.
Next Steps
Once the MongoDB Atlas is enabled, Satori begins scanning the data store and populating the Data Inventory with discovered data categories and audits.
